Refurbished Rail Line

Our Work » Trail Visions » Refurbished Rail Line

Our members were centrally involved in a project to refurbish a high, and historic heritage bridge along the rail line in the town of Uxbridge. The project was completed in 2015 with financial support from OTF, the Trans Canada Trail, local service clubs, private donors including many GDA members, as well as in-kind support from the rail line owner Metrolinx (engineering drawings), and gravel from local aggregate companies. This bridge section of the TransCanada Trail and Uxbridge town trail system was christened John McCutcheon Way after the GDA member who was so active in pursuing its completion.
