This privacy policy sets out how Green Durham Association (“GDA”, “the Association”) uses and protects any information that you provide the Association.

 

GDA is committed to ensuring that your information and privacy is protected. Only authorized GDA officers or volunteers may access your information and only on a need to know basis. The Association may change this policy from time to time by updating this website page.

 

 

What we collect

 

We may collect the following information:

 

  • member names

  • member contact information, including email, mailing address and telephone number

  • member correspondence preferences

  • method that fees were paid

  • method that donations were paid

  • cookies (link to section How we use cookies below)

 

 

If you believe that any of the information that GDA capture’s is incorrect or incomplete, or to request that your personal information be removed from our mailing or contact lists, please contact us identifying the corrections to be made. We will promptly make the relevant changes and/or corrections.

 

 
What we do with the information we gather

 

We do not trade, share or sell email addresses or any personal information to any third party or use your email address for unsolicited mail. The personal information we require is for administrative and record keeping purposes to:

 

  • maintain membership records;

  • issue tax receipts for donations;

  • send to active members correspondence related to the GDA mandate, priorities or events, including the GDA publications, requests for volunteers, and membership or fundraising drives.

  • comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, such as all documentation related to a person's express and implied consent to receiving and/or unsubscribing to GDA-related correspondence; and

  • monitor, analyse and report on online visits to the Green Durham Association’s website to help GDA maintain and improve the design and content of the website.

 

 

Security

 

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we have put in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

 

All personal information is shredded and removed from our databases after two years from the last membership renewal date.

 

 

How we use cookies
